89 - Flowers

I saw these clematis while walking to work. I thought they looked nice in the tree.

88 Party

I didn't make it until it was almost over, but there was a street party this weekend on my street. It was blocked to cars and food was eaten, fun was had and there was even a band!

87 - Neighbors

A lot of what makes the Glebe so wonderful is the art, the stores, the parks, the architecture etc... but at the heart of it is the people. When we moved into our current house our neighbor Mary (whose garden has featured here before) arrived at our door with a welcome cake. It was delicious!  The other day she dropped off some homemade raspberry jam which I enjoyed today for lunch with fresh still hot bagels from Kettlemans.

Thanks Mary!

86 - Sharp

The sharpest store in the Glebe has to be Knifewear on Bank Street. They sell marvelous high end knives as well as shaving supplies, axes and other sharp things.

A couple of Christmases ago my wife got me a knife from here and I love it.

Today they were offering free sharpening so the boys and I went in and got a few sharpened. They can make cheap knives so sharp it is almost unbelievable!

I just deboned chicken so easily I was amazed!  What a great part of the Glebe!

85 Wadding Pool

The family and I have spent many hours this summer at the local wadding pool in Sylvia Holden park. A great way to cool off on a hot day!

84 - Public Chalk Boards

When you head to Lansdowne don't forget your chalk!  You can draw on these giant boards!

83 - More Art

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so they say and I'm sure some people won't enjoy this as much as I did when I saw it. But that's okay.

Post 82. Alley Art

One thing I love about the Glebe is the art that is everywhere. I probably posted the nesting dolls mural already (I'm too lazy to check) but in the same alley next to Mrs. Tiggys and the Pancake Shack and the French bakery there is a new mural on the other wall!

Just in case, here are the dolls:

Post 81

Since I have clearly stopped posting daily, I'm going to stop using Day in the title. Yesterday I was at Lansdowne and noticed people setting up for a wedding reception in the Horticulture Building. A pretty cool venue!  Photo is taken through the window so not the best quality.

Day 80

I was walking to work this week along Fifth Avenue and spotted this new feature. Free Books on Fifth - take one leave one - very cool. I'm going to leave a book there on the way to the Sylvia Holden Park wadding pool.

A New Day

So I haven't done this for a while. It stopped being fun and felt like more of a chore than anything else. I just figured out how to post from my cell phone and I think that'll make this a little easier to do so it seems I'm back. On my walk to work this morning I saw that a new restaurant is about to open in the Glebe.  I can't wait to find out all about The Pomeroy House!
